The nanoConnect HD, DV, AVCHD to SD/HD-SDI Converter from Convergent Design is a device that allows you to convert HDV, DV, AVCHD to SD/HD-SDI. Use this unit to achieve digital video and audio output to your camcorder, deck, or any other device. It will work with virtually any HDMI-enabled source device, including the new AVCHD camcorders, as well as HDV devices.

The converter takes advantage of the decoder and scaler inside of your HDV/AVCHD camera deck, allowing you to get 1080i or 720p or SD video out independent of your native format. It also supports a wide range of frame rates and resolutions, including 60, 59.94, 50, 30, 29.97, 25, 24, and 23.98Hz. No special cards, software, cabling, or DIP switches are required to use this device. Simply plug in the cable from your source and nanoConnect automatically locks to the incoming signal and outputs the corresponding HD/SD-SDI with embedded audio.

This device is also designed to work with popular NLEs that support deck control via FireWire. This will allow you to avoid rendering and performance issues associated with HDV and AVCHD and capture uncompressed HD/SD into an I-Frame codec. You can additionally capture uncompressed live output for unsurpassed video quality.
